Un-Mounted EAS Summit 2026
September 23-26
THE FIRST OF IT’S KIND
Register below!
TIS is hosting this summit to create space for the growing field of un-mounted equine-assisted services (EAS) to connect, learn, and evolve together in a more intentional and visible way.
Across Canada, practitioners, organizations, and emerging professionals are developing meaningful work with horses in grounded, relational, and non-riding approaches. While this work is expanding, there are limited spaces where people can come together specifically around un-mounted practice to share knowledge, build relationships, and explore the future of the field.
This is an open and inclusive space for all certifications, training backgrounds, and modalities. What unites participants is a shared commitment to horse-centered, ethical practice that honours un-mounted approaches and relational ways of working with horses.
This summit is also an opportunity to bring together and learn from existing resources and knowledge across the globe, creating a broader understanding of un-mounted EAS practices. Through this, we aim to take a macro-level view of the field, exploring how different approaches, perspectives, and developments are shaping un-mounted EAS internationally.
With both in-person and virtual participation options, the summit aims to make this conversation accessible while still prioritizing meaningful, relational, and community-based learning.
At its core, this gathering is about coming together to support the evolution of a unique and growing field—grounded in relationship, practice, and shared learning with a global lens.
-
This is the fullest experience of the summit—designed for those wanting depth, connection, and presence in community.
Set at the beautiful Heart Lake Farm on Vancouver Island, this gathering offers an immersive opportunity to slow down, connect, and learn alongside others who are actively engaged in un-mounted equine-assisted services (EAS) work across Canada.
In-person participants will have the opportunity to:
Be part of a live, in-person gathering at Heart Lake Farm
Connect directly with practitioners, professionals, and emerging leaders
Attend live presentations and two panel Q&A sessions
Experience the energy of gathering in community over 2.5 days
Enjoy provided lunches and snacks in a shared setting
Receive access to a consent-based participant contact list
Receive 1-year TIS “emerging professional” Individual Membership included
An invitation to a post-conference online reflection meeting.
This is more than a conference—it is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a growing community committed to ethical, horse-informed, un-mounted EAS practice.
-
We recognize that travel, accessibility, schedules, and distance can impact participation, and we are excited to offer a virtual option for those who want to be part of this growing conversation from wherever they are.
Virtual participants will receive access to recorded keynote presentations, selected summit sessions, reflection materials, and opportunities for online connection throughout the gathering.
Virtual participants will have the opportunity to:

Engage with ideas, conversations, and emerging practices within un-mounted equine-assisted services (EAS)
Be part of the conversation and evolution of this incredible and unique sector, and its development in Canada with a global lens

We are grateful to welcome participants both near and far into this growing community.

Choose the experience that fits you best—both options offer meaningful ways to engage with the TIS Summit and the evolving field of un-mounted equine-assisted services (EAS).
WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Choose in-person if you want to fully immerse yourself in the community, conversations, and shared experience
Choose virtual if you need flexibility while still wanting to be part of the conversation, learning and dialogue
Both options are part of the same growing community—each offering a different way to connect, learn, and contribute to the evolution of un-mounted EAS in Canada with a global lens.
